Overview

The balance between kick and bass is one of the most important aspects of dance music. Getting them to work together perfectly is a challenge for many producers, and we have figured out a way to make it much, much, simpler:

BASE is a synthesizer that generates both a kick and a bass sound. They are linked in terms of volume, spectrum and timing so they work together perfectly in your mix.

Don't be fooled by the simple interface: it's optimized towards getting a good bassline as opposed to tweaking your sounds endlessly. Use the soundsets as your starting point and make some tracks!

Why should you get BASE?

  • Fastest and easiest kick and bass synth on the market
  • The only sidechain linked kick and bass there is
  • 100 factory presets
  • High quality synthesis for immediate results

BASE is available in VST, VST3 and AU formats for both Windows and Mac in 64bit for only €29,99. Start your 14 day free trial today! By the way, we're running promotions regularly, so don't be afraid to hit us a message in the support.

SIDECHAIN

Change the timing of the bass through the sidechain slider from 1/64th note to dotted 8th note to go from almost simultaneous to super late. The sidechain is connected to your DAW’s tempo and can be normal notes, dotted and triplets.

COLOUR

Increase the bass presence through crunch and overtones with the color slider.

LENGTH

Determines the note length from punchy short to infinite. Length is connected to your DAW’s tempo and can be normal notes, dotted and triplets.

MIX

The bottom slider determines the volume mix between kick and bass. 100% bass still uses the kick as sidechain information.

SPLIT MIDI AND SPLIT AUDIO

There are two extra control settings in the plugin: SPLIT MIDI and SPLIT AUDIO.

On the default setting SPLIT MIDI and SPLIT AUDIO are turned off, meaning both kick and bass are triggered on every midi event, with the kick synced to the note of the bass. This is great for when you just need a simple four to the floor bassline to get your track going.

SPLIT MIDI offers full flexibility in composing more fancy basslines by literally splitting the midi into three octaves: C-2 for sidechain, C-1 and 0 for kick and C1 and 2 for bass.

SPLIT AUDIO splits the audio into two mono tracks: one for the bass and the other for the kick. Allowing different processing and routing on each instrument.

OUTPUT

Determines the output volume of the plugin.

SOUNDSETS

The meticulously crafted kick and bass soundsets are the core of what the plugin is about. Use the arrows to switch through them to get inspired, or click on the soundset name to open the menu: they’re organised by artist, genre and vibe. You can also combine a kick and a bass from different sets by clicking the LINK button.

F.A.Q

Is it for both Windows and Mac?

Yes, both Mac and Windows.

What are the system requirements?

You need a 64 bit operating system on windows or mac and a DAW of course, other than that you’re good to go.

I installed the trial and now it asks for a license key, where is it?

For the trial you just hit the 'evaluate' option. You don't need a license to try it out.

I bought the BASE and have my serial, why can’t I activate my plugin?

You need to have an active internet connection to activate BASE, please check that and try again. Try hitting Reconnect.

I just downloaded and installed my free trial and now it asks for a serial, now what?

When you hit the ‘Evaluate’ button you can use your 14 day free trial without restrictions.

I don’t understand how SPLIT MIDI, SPLIT AUDIO, or other functions work, can you help?

Did you know we wrote a short manual to explain it all? Find it here and follow our YouTube here as we’ll start uploading tutorials soon. If you still experience difficulties, feel free to talk to us through support@spinninbase.com or the chat window.

So is it only for beginners then?

Definitely not! There are many reasons to use the BASE even though you are a well advanced producer: it can speed up your proces and help you get started on an idea you just had. You can layer the sounds with your own (some use the BASE as a top kick by muting the bass and shortening the kick). You can use it to make sure the kick is in the right key of your bass. And on and on and on. So stop procrastinating and start making some tracks!
